The fibers come from single-use plastic bottles, and as many as 612 bottles are used to create one rug. Before being woven, the fibers are yarn-dyed for lasting color.

The polypropylene construction withstands plenty of foot traffic and the elements. This rug is reversible for double the style -- one side has bold stripes while the other is adorned with an intricate medallion pattern.

You might also like the Afton shag rug. It has a 2-inch pile that looks and feels like wool, but it's made from recycled polyester. Like the Kian rug, the polyester for this floor covering comes from plastic bottles. It takes up to 1600 bottles to craft a single rug, which keeps them out of the landfill for a healthier environment.

Accent your space with the blue-and-white pattern of the Zinnia rug. It's hand-tufted from PET derived from plastic bottles, so it's healthy for the planet and incredibly durable. The fabric is yarn-dyed for enduring color, and the backing is cotton and synthetic latex for quality and a healthier indoor environment. Unlike real latex, synthetic latex doesn't trigger allergies or have an unpleasant odor.

Use a rug pad beneath any rug to keep it from slipping and sliding. There are premium plush rug pads for extra cushioning beneath your feet and those made for outdoor use. You can cut rug pads to fit your floor coverings if needed.
