9 Clever Towel Storage
Ideas for Your Bathroom

9-clever-towel-storage-ideas-for-your-bathroom1

Towels are a must-have for the bathroom, but storage problems can be a little tricky, especially if you're tight on space. Pottery Barn offers many solutions to help keep your bathroom towels organized and handy. While there's a wide variety of bathroom cabinets and shelves, sometimes the most helpful ways to keep towels neat involve using items that aren't necessarily designed for the bathroom. If you don't have a linen closet easily accessible from your bathroom, try some of these clever storage tricks.

1

Baskets

Baskets are always a winner in the bathroom because they're versatile enough to fit almost anywhere. Roll towels and place them in a round wicker basket, or fold them neatly and stow them in a square basket under the sink or by the tub. If you're short on floor space, hang the baskets vertically above the toilet or sink and nestle a few rolled towels or hand towels inside.

2

Vertical Shelves

If you don't have much floor space to spare, search for a storage shelf that rises vertically rather than sits horizontally. While not initially intended for the bathroom, a wall spine bookshelf is ideal for folded or rolled towels and can impart an elegant yet unexpected touch to a room.

3

Wine Racks

A wine rack is another practical but pleasantly surprising storage solution. Choose a standing rack with a low profile to sit out of the way, and roll your towels to fit one in every curved space that typically cradles a bottle. Alternatively, choose a hanging wine rack for an artful wall solution. If you're really short on space, you can even hang the wine rack on the back of your bathroom door.

4

Repurposed Cabinets

A ladder adds a stunning touch to your design space. Store folded towels on a step ladder, or hang towels over the rungs of a ladder leaning against the wall. This is another way to make use of vertical space without cluttering the floor.

5

Multipurpose Cabinets

When you're looking for a storage option for the bathroom, it can be tempting to look only at bathroom cabinets, but sometimes it helps to think outside the box. A small cabinet or credenza designed for a kitchen or bedroom often works just as well in the bathroom. If you only have a small space, use your cabinet for hand towels or washcloths rather than your larger bath towels.

6

Wooden Crates

Crates are another clever way to store towels, and you can easily arrange and stack them to sit or hang in almost any space. Mount them symmetrically for a clean look, or fit them side by side in an abstract pattern for a fashionable feel. With a fresh coat of paint, you can repurpose old crates to fit the decor of your bathroom space, or you can purchase crates designed for storing magazines or other items.

7

Magazine Racks

A contemporary magazine rack doesn't just hold magazines. Try rolling your towels and placing them in the rack for a look that's modern and easily accessible. If your magazine rack hangs on the wall, place the towels inside and install it next to the shower so people can grab one and dry off easily.

8

Floating Shelves

Floating shelves hang almost anywhere, from under an open sink to over a toilet or alongside a bathroom mirror. Place these shelves strategically in your space for additional towel storage. If you don't like the look of towels sitting openly on the shelf, you can conceal them in baskets or storage bins on the shelves.

Rolling Carts

If you have the space, a rolling cart is a great way to store towels and other bathroom necessities, and it moves easily, which makes redecorating a snap. Again, you don't only have to find something designed for the bathroom. A bar cart provides storage space ideal for towels, while a kitchen cart usually has a shelf that works well for towel storage and may have a drawer where you can tuck your other bathroom essentials.
