How to Choose the Right Towels for Your Registry

If there's one home essential that can never be too fresh, it's bath towels. So when registering for your wedding, add sets of plush towels to the list. Our wide assortment of towels ranges from heavy to light, so you can find the ones that are just right for the two of you. You'll love wrapping up in them before dinner dates and in the morning as you get ready for the day. Here’s how to choose towels with the perfect weight, absorbency and texture.

Materials 101

There's no one-size-fits-all when it comes to bath towels. Want that fluffy feel? Our Turkish cotton towels are crafted of premium, extra-long staple fibers, resulting in a luxurious towel that will stay plush for years. Want something quick-drying? Opt for Hydrocotton, which has highly absorbent, low-twist loops, and gets even softer with use and time. Want a healthier home? Choose organic cotton that is grown using methods and materials that have a low-impact on the environment, and look for Oeko-Tex® certification, which ensures no harmful chemicals were used throughout the production process.

Weigh Your Options

Not too heavy, not too light – just right. Our towels are between 400-900 GSM (grams per square meter), so you can select the ones that feel right to you. Keep in mind that the higher the GSM, the longer the towel will take to dry. If you live in humid climates or don’t have much circulation, try a medium weight (between 500-600 GSM), like our Hydrocotton or cotton/linen blends.

Take Good Care

After you receive the perfect towels for your newlywed home, maintain them so they stay fresh for years to come. Wash them before the first use. After a couple of washes, add a splash of white vinegar to your load to set the colors and remove detergent buildup. Wash colors on warm cycles and whites on hot – and always keep the two separate.
